What is a Widget?

A widget is a small application that sits on your OS X Dashboard.

What Does This Widget Do?

The ESV OS X Dashboard Widget allows you to search the ESV text by passage or keyword from your OS X Dashboard.

How Do I Install It?

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or above is required.

If you're using Safari:

1. Click the download link.
2. When the widget download is complete, Show Dashboard
3. Click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar
4. Click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.

If you're using a browser other than Safari:

1. Click the download link.
2. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder.
3. Show Dashboard
4. Click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar
5. Click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it

How Do I Use It?

1. Show Dashboard
2. Type "john 3:16" (or whatever verse or words you want) into the widget.
3. Hit Enter. The widget will send you to the search page on the ESV website.
